• Staying at the intersection of the Bund and Jinling Road, catching the day and night river breeze of Shanghai

  This time in Shanghai, I deliberately avoided the popular Jiangjing Hotel and walked all the way along Jinling East Road, pushing open the door of MaxX By Steigenberger on the Bund Shanghai. The address is located at No.1 Jinling East Road, and standing at the entrance, you can see the international architectural complex on the Bund. Even the wind is wrapped in the water vapor of the Huangpu River. This stay has become the most reluctant journey of my Shanghai trip to end.
  As soon as I entered the lobby, I bumped into the romance of old Shanghai. The vintage crystal chandelier hung under the high dome, and the marble floor reflected warm light. The receptionist at the front desk handed over the room card with a smile and reminded me, "Your room faces east, and you can directly see the sunrise on the Bund in the morning." I walked down the hallway to my room, and there were vintage prints of old Shanghai Bund hanging on the walls. Even the door handles were gilded with vintage patterns, without the typical coldness of modern hotels. Every step felt like stepping into an old time.
  At the moment of opening the door, I was directly hit by the river scenery. Along the way, you can see the arcade buildings in old Shanghai. You don't need to crowd the popular scenic spots. You can turn a corner and enter the fried chicken restaurant hidden in the alley. Strolling until late at night back to the hotel, there's no need to take a taxi or take a detour. Walking slowly back along the river breeze, the doorman smiled and handed a cup of warm lemon water, saying that the river breeze was cool at night and it would be warm and comfortable to drink.
  The next morning I set the alarm clock for six o'clock and stood in front of the french window, waiting for the sunrise. The orange red light diffused from the back of the buildings in Lujiazui, dyeing the water surface of the Huangpu River into broken gold. The buildings of the world on the Bund slowly woke up in the morning light. The morning runners ran along the river embankment, and even the wutong trees on the roadside were coated with a layer of soft light. The breakfast in the hotel was cooked on the spot.
